6.18.19 Home Meet Details
Vortex,
Here is a timeline for today's meet:
4:00: All swimmers 7 and Older to the pool for warmups.
4:15: 6 and Unders to the pool for warmups.
5:00: Meet begins.
We are looking forward to our first league meet tonight! We realize that the weather may be an issue, so please check your email before coming to the pool for any updates. We will run the meet in light rain, so bring your umbrellas just in case!
Please make sure that you write your swimmers' names on their back right shoulder (especially the younger swimmers) so it is easiest for our coaches to line them up. You may also want to write your name on your team t-shirt ... they are easy to lose at a meet!
- All swimmers need to be at the pool and ready to warm up at their designated times. Please be on time and check in with the coach at the entrance to the pool for attendance when you arrive. The meet should last until around 8:00. We start with the 11 and Up Individual Medley events and then move on to the 6 and Unders. We do all the 6 and Under events and then start the Medley Relay. Please be sure you stay until your child's last event. If your child is in a Free Relay at the end of the meet and leaves, then 3 other swimmers don't have a team.
- Walk, carpool, ride your bike!! The parking lot will be jam packed. If you must drive, park on only one side of the street -- signs will be posted. Emergency vehicles can not get through if we park on both sides -- you will be asked to move your car!!
- Bring chairs, shade, a sharpie, sunscreen and your own printed lineup from the website. All of these things will be in short supply, and the team does not provide printed paperwork.
- Concessions! Bring cash as we have a full concession stand with drinks, Chick Fil A sandwiches, hot dogs and all kinds of snacks. You are allowed to bring a cooler to the meet (no alcohol please) but I encourage you to visit the concession stand. This is our only fundraiser, and it keeps our registration costs so low.
- If you have a team suit, wear it! If you don't have a team suit, please wear a one piece suit that doesn't need to be tied or won't fall down when diving/jumping in. Bring goggles!!
The HEAT SHEET and TEAM ENTRY is attached below. The team entry is in alphabetical order. Find your swimmer's name and see their events listed.
For example:
Domke, Emma (13)
#18 Girls 13-14 100 Medley Relay (B-2)
#34 Girls 13-14 50 Backstroke
This means that Emma Domke (age 13) is swimming Event #18 which is the 100 Medley Relay. She is the second swimmer (swimming breast - medley order is back, breast, fly free).
Event #34 is the 50 yard backstroke (2 full lengths of the pool). Emma is in Heat 2, Lane 2.
This is a lot of information. Please don't hesitate with any questions. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
